Situated north of Glenview, IL, the Boys and Girls Club of Lake County most recently hosted a James Bond-themed fundraising event at the Deer Path Inn in Lake Forest. The dance was coordinated by co-chairs Tina Ballis and Evelyn Stamelos. The pair, along with their committee, planned live and silent auctions that raised more than $210,000. The club also received contributions from corporate sponsors, such as Allstate, BMO Harris Bank, and the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. More than 200 supporters were in attendance.
Funds support youth initiatives that positively shape the future of children at risk of becoming involved in drugs and gangs, as well as other illegal activities. Through after-school and summer programs, the club improves a child’s chance of becoming a caring person and a contributing member of society.
